5.1 The function of this test method is to provide numerical instrumental results indicating the bond and/or bond strength of a thermoplastic pavement marker to a specific cement brick substrate.

5.2 Using this test method allows users and manufacturers to control the quality of the product and infer the performance of the thermoplastic pavement marking product. The results of these tests also provide information that helps in the research and development of thermoplastic pavement marking materials.

5.3 The method has been revised to be more consistent with the methodology of other ASTM bonding methods for coatings in test methods D4541, D5179, and D7234.

5.4 Strict adherence to the said procedure is necessary for the accuracy of the test method. Adhesive strength should not be accepted under any conditions except in accordance with this method.

1.1 This test method provides a means for determining the bonding strength of thermoplastic pavement marking materials using cement bricks and loading fixtures.

1.2 تعتبر القيم بالبوصات إلى الجنيهات بمثابة قيم قياسية. القيم الواردة بين قوسين هي تحويلات رياضية لوحدات النظام الدولي للوحدات وهي للإشارة فقط ولا تعتبر قياسية.

1.3 لا يهدف هذا المعيار إلى معالجة جميع المخاوف المتعلقة بالسلامة, لو اي, المرتبطة باستخدامه. تقع على عاتق مستخدمي هذه المواصفة القياسية مسؤولية تحديد السلامة المناسبة, الممارسات الصحية والبيئية وتحديد إمكانية تطبيق القيود التنظيمية قبل الاستخدام.

1.4 يعتمد هذا المعيار الدولي على مبادئ التقييس المعترف بها دوليًا والمنصوص عليها في “قرار بشأن مبادئ تطوير المعايير الدولية, المبادئ التوجيهية والتوصيات” صادر عن لجنة الحواجز الفنية أمام التجارة (TBT) لمنظمة التجارة العالمية.
