1.1 This practice provides a way to specify object colors based on a color curve system. Including computational and visual methods. This practice applies to inks, paints, dyes, or heavily colored surfaces seen by an observer with normal color vision.

1.2 This practice includes a method for producing color samples to match color curve samples.

1.3 This practice does not include specimen preparation. If samples need to be prepared in conjunction with this practice, mutually agreed procedures should be established.
