Bedeutung und Zweck
4.1 The conductivity of the electrophoresis bath is due to the presence of ionic substances in the electrophoresis tank, from the carrier, and the presence of impurities in the form of ionizable acids, bases, salts, or combinations of these substances. The existence of excessive ionic impurities is not conducive to the application and performance of electrophoretic paint. The test is suitable for research, production, quality control and electrophoretic bath process control.

4.2 Other relevant methods for the determination of water conductivity are described in test method D1125.

Geltungsbereich
1.1 The test method consists of measuring the conductivity of an electrophoresis cell or ultrafiltrate sample using commercially available equipment.

1.2 In SI-Einheiten ausgedrückte Werte sollten als Standardwerte betrachtet werden. Andere Maßeinheiten sind in dieser Norm nicht enthalten.

1.3 Diese Norm soll nicht alle Sicherheitsprobleme behandeln, wenn überhaupt, mit seiner Verwendung verbunden. Es liegt in der Verantwortung der Benutzer dieser Norm, vor der Verwendung geeignete Sicherheits- und Gesundheitspraktiken festzulegen und die Anwendbarkeit behördlicher Beschränkungen zu bestimmen.
