Schritt 1: Umfang

1.1 This test method includes a procedure for visual determination of the color of a transparent liquid at close range. It applies only to materials where the object in which the color is produced has light absorption properties that are nearly identical to the platinum-cobalt (Pt-Co) color standard used.

1.2 This test method is applicable to the color measurement of transparent liquid samples without fog, and the nominal Pt-Co color value is between 0 Und 100. Suitable for non-fluorescent liquids with light absorption properties similar to Pt. – Color standard solutions. Test methods D1209, D1686, and D5386 involve visual and instrumental measurements of near-transparent liquids.

1.3 When using this method to determine the consistency of test results with applicable specifications, the results should be rounded according to the rounding method of Practice E29.
