ISO (Internationale Standardisierungsorganisation) ist eine globale Allianz nationaler Normungsgremien (ISO-Mitgliedsorganisationen). Die Entwicklung internationaler Standards erfolgt in der Regel durch technische Komitees der ISO. Jede Mitgliedsinstitution, die an einem Thema interessiert ist, zu dem ein Fachausschuss eingerichtet wurde, hat das Recht, in diesem Ausschuss vertreten zu sein. An dieser Arbeit sind auch internationale Regierungs- und Nichtregierungsorganisationen beteiligt, die mit der ISO zusammenarbeiten. The second edition cancelled and replaced the first edition (ISO 18314-3:415), which had been technically revised.

1 Reichweite
This document specifies different methods for calculating special indices that are commonly used to describe the brightness and inking of a sample, including chroma or hue within a color coordinate.

This document applies to tri-stimulus values and chrominance coordinates calculated using the color matching function of the CIE 1931 (2°) or CIE 1964 (10°) standard colorimetric system. It is used to specify a color stimulus that is considered to belong to a reflection or transmission object that requires a one-dimensional value.
