ISO (Internationale Standardisierungsorganisation) ist eine globale Allianz nationaler Normungsgremien (ISO-Mitgliedsorganisationen). Die Entwicklung internationaler Standards erfolgt in der Regel durch technische Komitees der ISO. Jede Mitgliedsinstitution, die sich für ein Thema interessiert, zu dem ein Fachausschuss eingerichtet wurde, hat das Recht, im Ausschuss vertreten zu sein. An dieser Arbeit sind auch staatliche und nichtstaatliche internationale Organisationen beteiligt, die mit Standardisierungsorganisationen zusammenarbeiten. ISO arbeitet eng mit der International Electrotechnical Commission zusammen (IEC) in allen Fragen der elektrischen Normung.

This international standard is one of five documents (see also ISO 1519, ISO 1520, ISO 6272-1 und ISO 6272-2) that provide empirical test procedures for the evaluation of the resistance of paints, varnish and related product coatings to cracking and/or exfoliation from substrates under different deformation conditions.

1 Umfang
This INTERNATIONAL standard describes an empirical test procedure for evaluating the resistance of paints, varnishes or related product coatings to cracking and/or shedding from metal substrates when bent around tapered manshafts under standard conditions.

For multi-coating systems, each coating can be tested individually or the entire system can be tested.
