מבוא

It specifies a method for determining the pigment content of coatings in which solids are precipitated by centrifugation.

It is mainly used to check the composition in the production process of coating materials and as an acceptance check for users of coating materials. Difficulties may be encountered when the method is applied to coating materials containing dyes, carbon black, very subdivided silica, or very subdivided titanium dioxide. It may not be suitable for latex paint.

The pigment content of the coating material can also be determined by the ashing method (ראה ISO 14680-2) or the filtration method (ראה ISO 14680-3).
