This document provides a method for determining the baking quality loss of coating powders applied by electrostatic or flocking spraying or fluidized beds.

The method described in this document is a simple and practical test that provides sufficiently accurate results for powders that lose approximately 2% (質量による) when roasted (heated). Beyond 2%, the accuracy decreases as the quality loss increases.

This method determines the amount of all volatile substances, including water.

The thermogravimetric test described in the ISO 11358 series can be used as a comparison method.
