BGD 297 ISO 2811 4 Paints Pressure Pycnometer/Specific Gravity Bottle

Pressure specific gravity bottle (pressure hydrometer) is a brand new product developed in combination with GB and ISO related standards and specifications. It is the first domestic product that conforms to relevant standards so far.

Equipment description:

The pressure and specific gravity bottle is manufactured according to GB/T 21862.4-2008 “determination of the density of paints and varnishes – part 4: cup pressing method” and ISO 2811.4 standard.By pressurizing to reduce the error caused by bubbles, etc., it is very suitable for measuring samples containing bubbles, for example, the emulsion often contains small air bubbles which are still present when the density is measured.

How it works: the new pressure gauge is made of stainless steel and consists of a hollow cylinder with a screwed-down piston at the bottom and a pressure relief cap at the top.A calibration buckle on the screws prevents the piston from moving further when the volume in the cylinder reaches 100ml, and the top cover allows the fluid to flow out of the cylinder when the pressure in the cylinder exceeds (1±0.1) MPa (10bar).Through high pressure, the air or other gases dissolved into the sample can be driven away. At this time, the volume is the real volume of the sample measured, and the calculated specific gravity is the real specific gravity. The repeatability of this test is very good.

Method of use:

1)Weigh the clean and dry hydrometer (all components) and record the reading

2) Turn handle A counterclockwise to remove the pressure starting chamber

3) Remove the pressure starting cap B

4) Turn handle D counterclockwise and release piston C

5) Fill the cylinder with the sample to be measured until it is full, and make sure that the test temperature is correct

6) Take the pressure starting cap B and the pressure starting chamber and put them back to the correct position. Make sure the cap is aligned to the center of the cup body. Then turn handle A clockwise to start the pressure

7) The temperature of the hydrometer and the sample reaches the same after 30 minutes

8) Grasp the hydrometer and slowly turn the handle D clockwise to increase the pressure inside the cylinder to 10.3bar(150 P.S.I). Use another container to take the overflow sample

9) Wipe the spilled sample from the hydrometer

10) Weigh the hydrometer again and record the value

11) The weight of the sample shall be the full cup weight minus the empty cup weight

The proportion of computing:P=M2- M1

M2= full cup weight (g) M1= empty cup weight (g)V= cup volume (100CC)

12) Disassemble each component and clean it before the sample is dried or cured
