  2. Scope of Application:

1.1 It is applicable to judge and evaluate the ability of vertically installed bundles of wires and cables or optical cables to inhibit the vertical spread of flame under specified conditions.

2.1 In accordance with GB/T18380.31-2008, IEC60332-3-10-2000, “Fire tests for Cables and Cables under flame conditions – Part 31: Test Apparatus for vertically installed Bundles of wire and cable with flame Vertical Spread Test Report”;

(Iec 60332-3-21:2000, Cables and Cables – Fire tests under flame conditions – Part 32: Vertically installed Bunches of wires and cables – Flame Vertical Spread Test A F/R Class);

2.4 Comply with GB/T18380.35-2008/IEC 60332-3-24:2000 “Fire tests for cables and Cables under flame conditions — Part 35: Vertical Flame spread tests for bundles of wires and cables vertically installed — Class C”;

2.5Comply with GB/T18380.36-2008/IEC 60332-3-25:2000 “Fire tests for cables and Cables under flame conditions – Part 36: Flame spread tests for bundles of wires and cables installed vertically – Class D”.

3.Main Parameters:

3.1 Test box: It is a free-standing box with a width (1000±50) mm, a depth (2000±50) mm and a height (4000±50) mm.The rear wall and both sides of the test box shall be insulated with heat transfer coefficient of about 0.7W.M-2.K-1. The test box shall be made of high-grade stainless steel plate coated with insulation mineral fiber of 65mm thickness and painted outside.

3.2 Air source:

3.2.1 The inlet air flow can be adjusted, so that it can be kept at (5000±500) L/min before and during the test. It meets the requirements of Clause 5.2 of GB/T 18380.31;

3.2.2 After the completion of the test: if the sample is still burning one hour after the fire supply is stopped, an alarm is set and a device is used to forcibly stop the combustion through rain;

3.2.3 air inlet size of combustion chamber bottom :(800±20) × (400±10) (mm)

3.3 Steel ladder type:

3.3.1 Standard steel ladder: width (500±5), height (3500±10)mm;

3.3.2 Wide section ladder: (800±10)mm in width and (3500±10)mm in height, made of stainless steel;

3.3.3 The upper end of the box body is equipped with electric hoist (power: 1.1KW) and bracket for lifting steel ladder;

3.3.4 Comply with GB/T 18380.31 clause 5.3;

3.4 Discharge purification device:

3.4.1 The digital display anemometer is installed on the upper part of the test box to ensure that the wind velocity is less than 8M/S and will not affect the air flow in the test box.

3.4.2 Smoke collection and washing smoke fume collection device: stainless steel, diameter 800mm, height 3500mm

3.5 Dust purification system:

3.5.1 track of dust collection: the Ф 150 mm pipe, lab, powerful air to purify system;

3.5.2 Air purification and smoke collection: after three layers of water curtain purification.

3.5.3 Water purification: three parts: spray device, smoke filter device and smoke exhaust device.

3.5.4 Spray device: It provides water spray to maintain special filter material to filter dust effectively.

3.5.5 Smoke filter device: it adopts filter material to filter the smoke, which can effectively filter the smoke into gray smoke.

 

3.6 The Ignition Source:

3.6.1 Type: it is composed of two propane gas blowtorch with belt type and its matching flowmeter and venturi mixer.The fire supply surface shall be drilled with 242 flat metal plates with a diameter of 1.32mm aperture. The center distance of these holes is 3.2mm. They are arranged in three staggered rows, 81, 80 and 81 in each row, and distributed in the range of nominal size 257×4.5mm.In addition, a row of small holes are cut on each side of the spout plate. These guide holes can keep the flame burning steadily.Each blowtorch USES a rotameter to control the rate of propane and air flow.As shown in figure 2

 

3.6.2 Location of ignition source: The blowtorch is placed horizontally, (75±5) mm away from the front surface of the cable sample, (600±5) mm away from the bottom of the test box, and symmetric with the axis of the steel ladder.The burner ignition point should be located between the two rungs of the steel ladder

Center, and more than 500mm away from the lower end of the sample.Blowtorch is installed on the trolley;

3.6.3 Flame temperature: adjustable from 450° to 950°;

3.6.4 Combustion gas: Propane with 95% purity.(provided by the customer);

3.6.5 Combustion-supporting gas: The compressed air is oil-free silent air compressor.(Air pressure must be above 10Mba);

3.6.6 Air flow: adjustable from 1~100L/min;Equipped with pressure gauge and regulating valve;

3.6.7 Propane flow rate: 1~50L/min (the flowmeter is a rotameter);Equipped with pressure gauge and regulating valve;

3.6.8 The gas supply system is equipped with tempering limiter

3.6.9 Ignition sources shall be provided with four belt blowtorch and two venturi mixers

3.6.10 It shall be equipped with piezoelectric automatic ignition device, spray device, fire extinguishing device and flue gas purification device

3.6.11 The flue gas purification plant shall not change the air flow through the test chamber

3.6.12 After the test, the combustion chamber and its periphery shall be cleaned conveniently

3.6.13 Supply voltage: AC220V

3.6.14 Power of vacuum cleaner: 0.75KW

3.6.15 Ignition: High pressure pulse automatic ignition is adopted.

3.6.16 Ignition timing: 0~ 99.99m /H can be set arbitrarily, and it will stop automatically when it reaches the set time.

4.Equipment Structure:

4.1 The machine is divided into three parts: combustion box, electric control box and air purification box. The three parts are individually movable, and each unit is equipped with casters at the bottom for easy movement and cleaning.

4.2 The exhaust vents of the combustion chamber are located on the top of the chassis, which can effectively discharge the exhaust gas at an equal speed. The bottom is provided with several intake holes to ensure the oxygen content passing through the cabinet during the test.

4.3 The top of the combustion chamber is provided with a water spraying device. When the sample combustion reaches the specified time (1H), the power can be started to forcibly extinguish the flame.

4.4 The front door of the combustion chamber is installed with a toughened glass window on the door, so that the indoor test can be observed at any time.During the test, the door is closed and sealed to prevent the harmful substances produced by combustion from polluting the indoor air.

6.1 Relay control system is adopted. All electronic components are of domestic leading brands, which can better guarantee the performance and detection accuracy of the machine.

6.2 The equipment has the following safety protection devices: power overload protection, short circuit protection, control circuit overload protection.

6.3 Blowtorch control system: it is composed of air flow meter, propane flow meter, regulating valve, ignition device, temperature measuring device, extinguishing device, solenoid valve and air and gas pipeline.

6.4 Combustion timing: adjustable from 0~ 99.99s /M/H, accuracy 1.0 S/ H

7.Environmental Conditions:

7.1 The ground is flat and well ventilated, free of flammable, explosive, corrosive gases and dust.

7.2 There is no strong electromagnetic radiation source nearby.

7.3 Proper maintenance space shall be left around the equipment.

7.4 Temperature: 5℃ ~ 30℃.

7.5 Pressure: 86 ~ 106kPa.

7.6 AC220V / 50 hz.

7.7 Allowable voltage fluctuation range: 220V±10%.

7.8 Allowable frequency fluctuation range: 50Hz±1%.

7.9 The user is required to equip the equipment with air and power switches of corresponding capacity at the installation site, and the switches must be independently and exclusively used for the equipment.
