The goal of ASTM D6625 is to evaluate the ability of polishes to protect against degradation caused by heat, UV light exposure, and humidity through the use of accelerated aging tests. The latter involves exposing samples within the device to water condensation, ultraviolet radiation and temperature changes up to a predetermined amount of time as a means of simulating decay caused by water and sunlight.
