In practice, surface reactive substances often contaminate the electrodeposited coating material in the tank. These contaminants can be materials used in downstream production processes, such as molding additives, anti-corrosion oils and chain lubricants.

These surface active substances can cause surface defects in electrophoretic coatings and/or subsequent coatings.

ИСО 22553-4 describes test methods for determining the compatibility of electrodeposited coating materials with liquids, pastes and solid foreign bodies that affect the properties of electrodeposited coatings.

The document specifies a method for determining the compatibility of electrodeposited coating materials with reference oils.

It is suitable for electrodeposition coatings in the automotive industry and other general industrial applications, such as chiller, consumer goods, radiators, aerospace, agriculture.
