The purpose of this document is to provide instructions on the use of electrochemical sensors to monitor atmospheric corrosion. These sensors are used for long-term measurement of thin film electrolyte conductance, corrosion current or coating condition. This method allows real-time assessment of corrosion currents associated with specific environmental conditions. Instantaneous corrosion current measurements cannot be obtained using resistance sensors or mass loss techniques. The techniques described in this document complement other standard techniques for assessing atmospheric corrosion, such as mass loss test sheets, resistance sensors or coating test plates (see ISO 8407 и ИСО 4628-8). 1 Обим примене
This document specifies a test method for atmospheric corrosion measurement using a two-electrode electrochemical sensor.
It is suitable for measuring the corrosion rate of uncoupled metal surfaces (тј. the “free” corrosion rate), the galvanic corrosion rate, the conductivity of film solutions and the barrier properties of organic coatings. It specifies electrochemical sensors with or without the use of organic coatings. These sensors are suitable for corrosion measurements in laboratory test rooms, outdoor exposure sites and service environments.
