The third edition cancelled and replaced the second edition (ИСО 4892-4:2004), which was a minor edition. It also incorporates ISO 4892-4:2004 / Corr.1:2005 Technical Corrigendum.

1 Домет
Овај део ИСО-а 4892 specifies methods for exposing a sample to an open carbon arc lamp in the presence of moisture to reproduce the weathering effects that occur when the material is exposed to the actual end-use environment, sunlight or sunlight filtered through window glass.

The sample is exposed to an open carbon arc light filtered under controlled environmental conditions (температура, влажност). Various filters are described.

Sample preparation and result evaluation are covered in other international standards for specific materials.

General guidance is given in ISO 4892-1.
