Uluslararası standart ISO 3856/6 was developed by the Technical committee ISO/TC 35 (Boyalar ve vernikler).
ISO 3856/6 was first published in 1980. The second edition cancelled and replaced the first edition, which was a complete revision.

1 Scope and domain of application
ISO'nun bu kısmı 3856 describes a flame atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) method for the determination of total chromium content in liquid parts of paints, prepared in accordance with sub-clause 9.3 of ISO 6713 or other appropriate international standards.
This method is suitable for coatings with total chromium content in the liquid portion in the range of approximately 0.05% ile 5% (m/m).
Other methods may be used by agreement between interested parties, but this AAS method is the method of adjudication in the case of dispute.
