Determination of paint flow time. Varnishes and similar coatings are used to obtain characteristic values that can be used as a simple aid in assessing the fluidity and suitability of such products.

DIN flow cups are not suitable for determining flow rates of less than 25 秒 (corresponding to kinematic viscosity of about 90 毫米2/秒). When using an ISO 2431 flow cup, the flow time should not exceed 150 秒 (equivalent to a kinemical viscosity of approximately 700 毫米2/秒).
