ASTM D 1849-95-2019 Storage Stability of Coatings

Overview
The test method covers procedures for testing the stability of liquid paint packaging by determining changes in consistency and certain other properties of solvent-based or water-based paint when stored above a certain temperature. Test equipment includes scraper, viscometer, paint brush and test surface. Test samples should be collected from received and stored samples. It is necessary to observe the sample for any crusting, corrosion, spoilage odor, rency or sour taste, stiffness of the underlying layer, consistency and the presence of clumps or streaks in the drawn film.
