Meaning and Purpose
4.1 When waterborne coatings are transported in cold weather, they may undergo cycles of freezing and thawing. Freezing and thawing cycles cause more damage to water-based coatings than when coatings undergo stable freezing.

Scope of
1.1 The test method covers procedures to evaluate the effects of freeze-thaw cycles on the viscosity of waterborne coatings and visual film properties.
