Meaning and Purpose
4.1 The method provides a means of evaluating and comparing the fundamental corrosion properties of substrates, pretreatment or coating systems, or combinations thereof, after exposure to a corrosive environment.

Scope of
1.1 The test method includes the treatment of previously painted or coated specimens for acceleration and atmospheric exposure tests, and subsequent assessment of corrosion, corrosion-related foaming, loss of adhesion at the line marks, or other film failures.
