ASTM D2243-14 Standard Test Method for Freeze-Thaw Resistance of Water-based Coatings

Meaning and use

4.1 When transporting water-based coatings in cold weather, they may undergo freeze-thaw cycles. The freezing and thawing cycles cause more damage to waterborne coatings than when the coating is subjected to stable freezing.
