ASTM D3889/D3889M-2020 “Standard Test Method for Adhesion to Pressure-Sensitive Tape Lining at Low Temperatures”

Meaning and use
5.1 Satisfactory tape performance at test temperatures means satisfactory low temperature performance at or above test temperatures.

5.2 This procedure applies to the problem of adhesion of 100% kraft paper fiberboard with a surface similar to that of standard lined cardboard, without substitution, but to provide information directly on any cardboard or surface, the actual surface should be substituted.

ASTM D3889/D3889M-2020 “Standard Test Method for Adhesion to Pressure-Sensitive Tape Lining at Low Temperatures”

Step 1: Scope
1.1 This test method covers a procedure for determining the adhesion of a pressure-sensitive tape to a standard lined cardboard or other similar surface.

1.2 This test method provides attribute responses (pass or fail) and does not produce variable or continuous range numerical data.

1.3 Values expressed in SI units or inch-pound units shall be regarded as standard values respectively. The values specified in each system may not be exactly the same; Therefore, each system needs to be used independently and the values cannot be combined in any way.

1.4 This standard is not intended to address all safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of users of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health and environmental specifications and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.

1.5 This international standard is based on internationally recognized standardization principles established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guidelines and Recommendations issued by the WTO Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
