ASTM D4811-2016 Standard Specification for Non-vulcanized (Uncured) Rubber Sheets Used as Roofing Rain Sheets

concept
This specification covers non-vulcanized (uncured) rubber sheets made of ethylene propylene diene diene (EPDM) or polychloroprene (CR) for waterproof roofs exposed to weather. Design criteria for on-site roof systems, such as fire resistance, site joint strength, material compatibility and resistance to heave, are beyond the scope of this Code. The waterproofing material shall be formulated from the appropriate polymer type and other composite components and shall be able to bond to itself, roof film and substrate for waterproofing on-site splicing and repair. The performance requirements of pre-curing flash include thickness, green strength modulus, ultimate elongation, shelf stability, vulcanization, tensile strength and consolidation, dimensional stability and weather resistance. Therefore, the performance requirements of post-vulcanization flash include tensile strength and setting, elongation, tear resistance, brittleness point, ozone resistance, air oven thermal aging, water absorption and weight changes, linear dimensional changes and weather resistance.

ASTM D4811-2016 Standard Specification for Non-vulcanized (Uncured) Rubber Sheets Used as Roofing Rain Sheets

Radius
1.1 This specification covers non-vulcanized (uncured) rubber sheets made from EPDM (ethylene-propenyl-diene terpolymer) or CR (polychloroprene), intended for use as waterproof roof waterproofing when exposed to weather.

1.2 The tests and performance limits used to characterize these flash materials are specific to each classification and are the minimum to make the product suitable for its intended use.

1.3 Values expressed in SI units or inch-pound units shall be treated separately as standard values. The values specified in each system may not be fully equivalent; Therefore, each system should be used independently of each other. Combining values from two systems may result in non-compliance.

1.4 Design criteria for on-site roof systems, such as fire resistance, site joint strength, material compatibility and pull resistance, are beyond the scope of this specification.

1.5 The following precautions apply only to the Test methods section of Section 8 of this specification: This standard may address hazardous materials, operations and equipment. This standard is not intended to address safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of users of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
