ISO (Mezinárodní organizace pro normalizaci) je globální federací národních normalizačních orgánů (členy ISO). Vývoj mezinárodních norem se obvykle provádí prostřednictvím technických komisí ISO. Each member group interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on the Committee. Mezinárodní organizace, governments and non-governmental organizations in contact with ISO are also involved in this work. ISO úzce spolupracuje s Mezinárodní elektrotechnickou komisí (IEC) ve všech záležitostech elektrické normalizace.

Část 1 Směrnice ISO/IEC popisuje postupy použité pro vývoj tohoto dokumentu a pro další údržbu. This document, prepared by the ISO/TC 156 Technical Committee on Corrosion of Metals and Alloys in collaboration with the CEN/TC 262 Technical Committee on Metals and Other Inorganic Coatings of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), covers corrosion protection and corrosion testing of metals and alloys. According to the Technical Cooperation Agreement between ISO and CEN (Vídeňská dohoda).

Druhé vydání ruší a nahrazuje první vydání (ISO 11844-2:2005), který byl technicky revidován. The main changes compared with the previous edition are as follows:

– Lead has been used as a standard sample for high sensitivity to vaporous organic acids;

— Appendix D was added.

With the current state of knowledge, determining corrosive erosion is the most reliable and often an economic way to assess corrosivity, taking into account all major local environmental impacts.

1 Rozsah aplikace
This document specifies methods for determining corrosion rates using standard metal samples in low corrosive indoor atmospheres. For this direct method of assessing corrosion, different sensitive methods can be applied using standard samples of the following metals: měď, stříbrný, zinek, ocel, and lead. The values obtained from the measurements are used as a classification standard for determining indoor atmospheric corrosivity.
