Test process

The method for testing the mechanical stability of latex is relatively simple but rigorous. First, take 100 grams of the sample and dilute it with an ammonia solution to ensure that the solid content reaches 55% of the total mass fraction. Then, the sample is put into the heating device, so that its temperature reaches 36~37℃, and gently stir. Subsequently, 80 grams of latex was obtained by using stainless steel mesh filtration and placed in a container at a confirmed temperature of 35 ° C ±1 ° C, and placed in the specified position of the instrument for high-speed stirring. During the whole process, the stirrer speed should be maintained at 14000r/min±200r/min.

Decision end point

The determination of the end point is a key step in the testing process. There are two common methods:

palmar

Every 15 seconds, a drop of latex sample is placed on the palm, and the end point is when the first condensed particles appear. In order to confirm the arrival of the end point, the mixing device can be stirred for another 15 seconds after sampling, if the condensed particles increase, it is confirmed that the end point is correct.

Water surface dispersion method

Drop the obtained sample onto a flat pan filled with 100-150ml of water. If the latex does not condense, it will disperse into a milky cloud in a few seconds. If condensation occurs, the sample will easily form condensed particles.
