1.1 This practice includes test procedures for determining the ductility of electrodeposited and autocatalytic deposited coatings on sheet or strip base metals. The purpose of this test is to determine the resistance of the metal coating to cracking during deformation. 2

1.2 Test methods E8 can be used if the coating is too tough and the mandrel is required to be too small to be practical.
