OIN (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est la fédération mondiale des organismes nationaux de normalisation (Comités membres de l'ISO). L'élaboration de normes internationales est généralement réalisée par l'intermédiaire de comités techniques ISO.. Chaque groupe membre intéressé par un sujet pour lequel un comité technique a été créé a le droit d'être représenté au sein du comité.. Governmental and non-governmental international organizations liaising with ISO are also involved in this effort. L'ISO travaille en étroite collaboration avec la Commission électrotechnique internationale (CEI) sur toutes les questions de normalisation électrique.

Les projets de normes internationales adoptés par le Comité technique seront distribués aux comités membres pour vote.. La publication en tant que norme internationale nécessite l'approbation par un vote d'au moins 75% du comité membre.

La norme internationale ISO 3549 a été développé par le comité technique ISO/TC 35, Peintures et vernis, Sous-comité SC 2, Pigments et incréments.

La deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition (OIN 3549:1976), qui a été techniquement révisé.

This international standard specifies the requirements and corresponding test methods for zinc powder pigments suitable for protective coatings.

3 Définition
For the purposes of this international standard, the following definitions apply.

3.1 Zinc powder pigment

A fine gray powder of basically spherical particles, composed mainly of metallic zinc.

Note 1: Zinc metal content, chemical purity, particle shape, particle size distribution, average and maximum diameter of zinc powder pigments used in coatings may vary. All of these changes may affect the behavior of zinc powder in coatings coating parameters such as dispersity, grinding fineness, reactivity, electrical conductivity and filling properties.
