4.1 יש לאמץ נוהג זה לגבי צבעים המותזים על חפצים במפעל או באתר. חשוב במיוחד להעריך את תכונות המראה של ציפוי מתכת, כגון ברק וצבע.

4.2 קליפת תפוז קלה או גלי ריסוס עשויים להופיע בציפוי המצופה בשיטת הבדיקה.

1. תְחוּם
1.1 מוצגות חמש שיטות להכנת סרטי ציפוי בעובי אחיד על לוחות בדיקה. פרקטיקות אלו הן:

תרגול א – Automatic sprayer application

Program B – Application for motor dip coating machine

Practice C – Motor driven scraper membrane application

Practice D – Hand-held spray gun application

Program E – Handheld blade film application

1.2 The use of winding traction rods as described in Practice D4147 may also be a suitable method for producing films of uniform coating thickness.
