הקדמה
ISO (הארגון הבינלאומי לתקינה) היא ברית גלובלית של גופי תקינה לאומיים (גופים חברי ISO). פיתוח תקנים בינלאומיים מתבצע בדרך כלל באמצעות ועדות טכניות של ISO. כל מוסד חבר המעוניין בנושא בו הוקמה ועדה טכנית זכאי להיות מיוצג בוועדה. ארגונים בינלאומיים ממשלתיים ובלתי-ממשלתיים העוסקים בקשר עם ארגוני תקינה מעורבים אף הם בעבודה זו. The third edition removes and replaces the second edition (ISO 3248:1998), which was technically revised with the following changes:

ISO 3248-2016 – Determination of thermal effects of paints and varnishes

1) Cooling of the test panel after the test is changed from standard temperature to ambient temperature;

ג) Normative references have been updated;

ד) The supplementary test conditions previously listed in Annex A have been incorporated into the test report.

1 תְחוּם
This standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of single or multi-coating systems of paints, varnishes or related products to changes in gloss and/or colour, foaming, cracking and/or shedding from the substrate under specified temperature conditions.

This procedure applies to products intended for use in household radiators or other items that may withstand similar temperatures.
