Although ISO 12944 (semua bagian) does not address financial and contractual issues, please note the fact that non-compliance with the requirements and recommendations given in ISO 12944 (semua bagian) can lead to serious financial consequences due to the huge impact of inadequate corrosion protection.

ISO 12944-1 defines the overall scope of ISO 12944. It provides some basic terms and definitions and Outlines other parts of ISO 12944. 1 Cakupan
This document deals with basic standards for the design of steel structures coated by protective coating systems to avoid premature corrosion and degradation of the coating or structure. It gives examples of appropriate and inappropriate design, pointing out how to avoid problems with application, inspection and maintenance of paint systems. Design measures to facilitate the handling and transportation of steel structures are also considered.
