Poor correlation in the scrubbing test can be attributed to variations in bristle stiffness, washability tester condition, application, and drying conditions. Test method B has been developed to improve reproducibility.

1.1 These test methods cover procedures for determining the resistance of wall coatings to scrubbing induced erosion, herein referred to as “resistenza allo sfregamento”.

1.2 Covers the following two test methods:

1.2.1 Metodo di provaA — Failure periods obtained on test coatings.

1.2.2 Metodo di prova B — The ratio expressed as a percentage of the cycles obtained with the test coating and the cycles obtained with the known reference coating in simultaneous operation to the failure period.
