1 Scope and domain of application
Ta część ISO 3856 describes a flameless atomic absorption spectrometry method for the determination of mercury content in test solutions, prepared in accordance with ISO 6713 or another appropriate international standard.

This method is suitable for paints with a “rozpuszczalny” mercury content in the range of approximately 0,005 Do 0,05 % (m/m), but the part of the method that covers the liquid portion of the paint to be examined is limited to water-diluted paints.

The substances and procedures used in this method may be harmful to health if proper precautions are not taken. The text draws attention to certain specific risks (Widzieć 4.6 I 4.7).
