5.1 The ability of the coating to resist printing is important because if the smoothness of the coating is changed through contact with another surface, especially a textured surface, its appearance will be adversely affected. Interior paint systems, especially gloss and semi-gloss on windowsills and other horizontal surfaces, often have objects such as flower POTS placed on them, which may tend to leave a lasting impression.
