ИСО (Међународна организација за стандардизацију) је глобални савез националних тела за стандардизацију (Тела чланица ИСО). Развој међународних стандарда се обично спроводи преко ИСО техничких комитета. Свака институција чланица заинтересована за предмет за који је основан технички комитет има право да буде заступљена у комитету. The third edition eliminates and replaces the technically revised second edition (ИСО 1520:1999). The main changes are:

– Make sure to do it in duplicate rather than in triplicate;

– Added precision data;

-The text was edited and revised, and normative references were reviewed.

This international standard is one of six standards that specifies empirical test procedures for assessing the resistance of paints, varnish and related product coatings to cracking and/or shedding from substrate under different deformation conditions.

The method to be chosen depends on the characteristics that need to be measured. In principle, all these tests on the technology different from each other, the accuracy is also different.

ИСО 1520-2006 “Scratch and indentation test”

1 Обим
This standard specifies an empirical method for assessing the resistance of paints, varnishing or related product coatings to cracking and/or shedding from metal substrates when gradually deforming through indentation under standard conditions (види 7.1).

For multi-coating systems, each coating can be tested individually or the entire system can be tested.

The method can be carried out as follows:

– as a “pass/fail” test by testing to a specified indentation depth to assess whether meet certain requirements;

— or by gradually increasing the indentation depth to determine the minimum depth at which the coating will crack and/or fall off the substrate.
