This standard specifies
A method for determining the weight thickness of a plastic film or sheet sample (see article 3);
A method for determining the average weight thickness of a plastic film or sheet roll and, if required, the yield (per unit mass area) (see Article 4).
These methods are suitable for all plastic films and sheets and are of particular value when mechanical scanning is not precise enough, especially for measuring the thickness of embossed sheets.
