The third edition eliminates and replaces the technically revised second edition (ИСО 15528:2013) и ИСО 8130-9:1992. Compared with the previous edition, the main changes are as follows:

Correct sampling is the basis for subsequent tests and their results. Operators with the required knowledge and experience need to perform the various sampling procedures with great care. The general instructions in this document are intended to complement this knowledge and experience and apply to most situations. 1 Обим
The document specifies procedures for sampling paints and varnishes, including paint powders, and raw materials used in their manufacture. Such products include liquids and materials that are not chemically modified and can liquify when heated, as well as powders, granules and pastes. Samples may be taken from containers, such as cans, barrels, резервоари, tank cars or ship tanks, or from barrels, sacks, large bags, silos or silo cars or conveyors.

This document does not address sample preparation for testing or reducing samples thus collected, which is covered in ISO 1513.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in ISO 4618 и ИСО 6206 and the following provisions apply.

3.1 Batch

A given quantity of material produced under uniform conditions

3.2 A Lot

Total amount of material to be sampled

A sample conforming to all the characteristics of the sampled material within the accuracy of the test method used
