The committee responsible for this document is ISO/TC 35, Боје и лакови, Subcommittee SC 9, Common Test Methods for Paints and Varnishes.

The second edition cancelled and replaced the first edition (ИСО 20567-2:2005), which was technically revised with the following major changes:

Specifications are added when the equipment is calibrated;

The reference to optical imaging was removed;

the clause on sampling was deleted;

The description of the appropriate method of removing loose paint has been transferred to the information annex as an example, and the adhesive strength of the tape is no longer specified for the method of using tape;

Made some minor corrections;

This document has been edited and revised, and the normative references have been updated.

In the automobile industry, multiple layers of paint are applied to the body for protection. Gravel, road metals, and other materials can damage these coatings, causing individual layers to peel off or the entire coating to layer off the substrate.

Stone chips can be simulated by single impact and/or multiple impact tests. ИСО 20567-1 describes multiple impact testing; ИСО 20567-2 и ИСО 20567-3 describe a single impact test.
