Three differences between disperser and grinder

Dispersers and grinders are commonly used industrial equipment used in different processes and application areas. There are some differences in their working principles, operation modes and application scenarios, as follows:

How it works:
Dispersers: Dispersers disperse and mix materials through high-speed rotating cutting, shearing, and impact forces. It uses a high-speed rotating dispersing disk or disperser to disperse particles or solid materials into liquid media through shear forces and liquid friction.

Grinding machine: The grinding machine finely ground and grind the material through the friction and collision of abrasive particles in the grinding medium. It uses the relative movement between abrasive and grinding media to achieve crushing, refinement and mixing.

Operation mode:
Disperser: The disperser usually adopts rotary operation, and the material is dispersed into the liquid medium by driving the disperser plate or disperser at high speed through the motor. The operator needs to control and adjust the speed, time and process parameters of the disperser.

Grinding machine: Grinding machine usually adopts reciprocating operation, through the relative movement between grinding disc or grinding ball and material, grinding and mixing. The operator needs to control the running time of the grinding machine, the amount of medium added and the selection of grinding medium.

Application Scenarios:
Disperser: Disperser is mainly used for particle dispersion, suspension preparation, colloid grinding and mixing processes. Common application areas include industries such as coatings, inks, cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals.

Grinding machine: Grinding machine is mainly used for fine grinding, grinding and mixing of materials. Common application areas include industries such as pigments, coatings, inks, ceramics, electronic materials, and chemicals.

In general, dispersers are mainly used to disperse particles or solid materials into liquid media to achieve suspension, homogenization, and mixing, while grinders are mainly used to fine ground, grind, and mix materials to achieve the desired particle size and quality requirements. They are different in working principle and application scenario, so it is necessary to select the appropriate equipment according to the requirements in the specific process.
