As stated in the introduction, this international standard is a revised version of ISO 11998:1998. The use and application of the standard has now been established worldwide and improved procedures/equipment have been proposed. The CEN/ISO Joint Working Group has approved the use of new grinding pads (different from those specified in 6.5) for inter-laboratory testing. The results of the tests are expected to be published by the end of 2006 and an early revision of the standard may begin.

1 范围
The ability of the coating to withstand wear caused by repeated cleaning operations and to withstand the penetration of fouling agents is an important consideration from a practical point of view as well as from the point of view of comparing and rating such coatings. This standard describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet scrubbing. With regard to the cleanability of the paint, only the method itself is specified, not the fouling agent.

Note that since these properties depend not only on the quality of the coating, but also on the substrate, application method, drying conditions and other factors, the obtained results cannot be directly transferred to actual practice. 在本标准中, coatings are evaluated based on defined substrates, fixed application methods, specified drying conditions and defined wet scrubbing methods.
