The second edition cancels and replaces the technically revised first edition (国际标准化组织 6272-1:2002). The main technological changes are as follows:

1 范围
ISO的这一部分 6272 describes a method for assessing the resistance of the dry film of paints, varnishes or related products to cracking or peeling of the substrate when subjected to deformation caused by weight loss, with a spherical indenter of 20 mm diameter, dropped under standard conditions.

Note that the terms “影响” 和 “抗冲击性” are used in the title and text of this part of ISO 6272, but an important feature of the equipment used is that it should produce rapid deformation rather than a true impact.

The described method can be applied

– As a pass/fail test, from a drop height and specified mass to test compliance with a specific specification;

– Or as a classification test, determine the minimum mass and/or droplet height at which the coating can crack or peel off from its substrate by gradually increasing the droplet height and/or mass.
