The water permeability test provides a way to monitor the passage of water through the coating material by changes in the dielectric constant of the coating material. When expressed in time, the test data will reflect the rate of deterioration of the coating material properties and will correlate with its expected service life as an insulating coating. The water penetration test will also provide information that will help determine a better coating thickness for a given material.
