ASTM D 5145-2021 “NonVolatile Matter Content and Pigment Content of Electrophoretic Paints”

Meaning and use
4.1 The non-volatile content and pigment content are measures of the total solid and inorganic pigment solids in the electrophoretic paint, respectively. In addition to production quality control, these characteristics are also important to keep the electrophoresis tank in a better range.

4.2 Additional test methods for determining the non-volatile content of paints and paint-related materials are described in Guide D2832.

range
1.1 These test methods cover the characterization of electrophoretic baths by the determination of the non-volatile content of inorganic pigment content.

1.2 Values expressed in SI units shall be regarded as standard values. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.

1.3 This standard is not intended to address all, if any, safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of users of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health and environmental practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.

1.4 This international standard is based on the internationally recognized standardization principles established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guidelines and Recommendations issued by the WTO Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade.
