ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a global federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The development of international standards is usually carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member group interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on the Committee. International organizations, governments and non-governmental organizations in contact with ISO are also involved in this work. Electrodeposited coating materials are exposed to different stability stresses, such as temperature difference, shear stress, and different deposition conditions. All of these effects, together or alone, can lead to dispersion instability. Condensation and kicking out of electrodeposited coatings may occur. This, in turn, leads to precipitation in the tank and/or on the surface to be coated, as well as filter clogging and other similar factory-specific problems.

Through this test method, the stability level of electrodeposited coatings can be comprehensively detected.

1 Scope of Application
This document specifies a method for determining contaminant substances, such as contaminant substances from prior processes, undispersed paint particles and other foreign bodies in electrodeposited coatings.

It is suitable for electrodeposition coatings in the automotive industry and other general industrial applications, such as chiller, consumer goods, radiators, aerospace, agriculture.

In practice, there may be different reasons for the increase in screen residue, such as metal particles or clots introduced with the object to be painted.
