ASTM D4227-2017 “Standard of Conformity for Coating Coaters for Concrete Surface Coatings”

abstraction

This practice provides coating builders with a standard qualification method to verify their proficiency and ability to achieve the quality required to apply specific coatings to concrete surfaces, including safety-related areas in nuclear facilities. Changes or simplifications in practice may apply to special coating work, such as maintenance. This approach is not intended to impose a single basis for all qualifications. It is designed to judge only the ability of the coating applicator to apply a specific coating with the appropriate tools and equipment. This practice requires the coating applicator to apply the coating using the appropriate technology and application equipment. The surface of the concrete test area shall be prepared as specified.
