Meaning and use
5.1 This test method can compare the opening time of several hot melt adhesives.

5.2 This test method is not intended to provide opening times observed for specific adhesives in specific manufacturing operations. This test method can be used to compare the performance of adhesives representing the same or to rank the opening time of a group of hot melt adhesives.

Step 1: Scope
1.1 This test method covers the range of manual determination of hot melt adhesive opening time under specified conditions.

1.2 Values expressed in SI units shall be considered standard. Inch-pound units in brackets are for reference only.

1.3 This standard is not intended to address all safety concerns associated with its use. It is the responsibility of users of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health and environmental specifications and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
