Meaning and use
5.1 This test method measures the cohesion strength of the adhesive on a pressure-sensitive product. Failure time can predict the end-use performance of pressure-sensitive products, such as edge leakage caused by cold flow; Finishing, slitting and die cutting quality; Tape stretching; Ability to seal packaging; And vertical retention.

5.2 The test method is suitable for quality control, development and application testing.

5.3 If the adhesive is not already applied, the adhesive may be applied to a smooth clear polyester (PET) film backing of 0.05 mm [0.002 in] thickness. The recommended dry glue thickness is 0.025 mm [0.001 in].

5.4 Humidity has a great influence on the failure time of many pressure-sensitive products. Therefore, humidity should be controlled according to 8.1.2.

Step 1: Scope
1.1 This test method covers the ability of pressure-sensitive products (e.g. tapes, labels, stickers, etc.) to maintain adhesion to stainless steel plates under a constant load applied parallel to the bonded surface of the pressure-sensitive product.

1.2 Values expressed in SI units or inch-pound units shall be regarded as standard values respectively. The values stated in each system may not be exactly the same, so each system needs to be used independently and cannot combine the values in any way.
