Meaning and purpose
4.1 The ability of pipe coatings to resist mechanical damage during transportation, handling and installation will depend on their impact resistance. The test method provides a systematic method for screening coating materials with respect to this property.

Scope of
1.1 The test method consists of determining the energy required to break the coating applied to the pipe under a given weight impact condition.

1.2 The value of three valid decimal points expressed in SI units should be considered as standard. The values given in parentheses are for reference only.
