Scope and Description: The hot extraction method is used to determine the soluble content of pigment samples in boiling water. This method is suitable for most inorganic and organic pigments.

Instruments and materials: laboratory analysis instruments, film filters, evaporating dishes, water, etc.

Test method: Mix the sample with water, boil for 5 minutes, and then cool. Filter filtrate and evaporate to constant weight. The final water soluble content is determined by several heating and cooling processes.
