4.1 The purpose of this test is to obtain information about the ability of the coating system to adhere to the substrate under thermal stress. It is assumed that the coating system tested is coated and cured according to the coating manufacturer’s instructions.

Geltungsbereich
1.1 This practice determines the resistance of a cured coating or coating system to repeated thermal cycles and aims to assess the impact of thermal cycles on the performance of the coating or coating system. These properties may include adhesion, resistance to inspection, knacken, schäumend, or other properties. The procedure is not intended to provide a quantitative measurement of the service life that can be expected for a particular coating system on a given substrate.

1.2 Diese Norm soll nicht alle Sicherheitsprobleme behandeln, wenn überhaupt, mit seiner Verwendung verbunden. Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Anwenders dieser Norm, für angemessene Sicherheit zu sorgen, Gesundheits- und Umweltpraktiken zu prüfen und vor der Verwendung die Anwendbarkeit behördlicher Beschränkungen zu ermitteln.
