Kahulugan at Layunin
5.1 Tannins and other hair color extracts are naturally occurring materials in wood and woody substrates. Tannin was found to be high in cedar, redwood, oak, and low in white and ponderosa pine. Tannins are also present in different amounts in wood component products. These extracts are dissolved by water-based paints and darkened, resulting in unsightly yellow or brown discoloration. This test method is designed to show the relative ability of the paint to prevent tannin leakage. Karaniwan, cedar or rosewood panels are used for this test.

1.1 This test method is an accelerated procedure used to determine the effectiveness of latex coatings in preventing tannin stains from migrating from wood substrates.
