1.1 This test method includes an accelerated procedure for simultaneously determining the comparative characteristics of the insulating coating system applied to the exterior of the steel pipe with the purpose of preventing or mitigating corrosion that may occur in underground service where the pipe will come into contact with the natural soil and may or may not receive cathodic protection.
